A little bit about me...My name is Sam Ederveen, I am 20 years of age, and I wish to become a carpenter. In future my ultimate goal is to become a licenced builder and I believe that the best start to that career path is a job in carpentry. I have always loved the idea of working as part of a construction team and believe I would be a most valuable asset to your company. I was originally accepted into JCU on an engineering degree but felt that this course was not for me. I have realised that I want to be more hands on in my career at this stage and will consider being part of that other element later on. While in high school I studied woodworking and manual arts in years 8 through 10 and enjoyed in profusely. I was graded extremely high marks on all projects I completed and was ranked as one of the best students in my cohort. Although I did not continue woodworking throughout the remainder of my high school years, as a result of pursuing more academic subjects, I continue to construct projects in my personal time for fun. The last few years I have spent working full time at numerous retail stores and have for the most part thoroughly enjoyed the experience; however, I feel I am now ready to pursue a more solid future for myself and jump into an industry and a career that I'll be proud to say I'm a part of. I truly believe I am a very hard working individual and will be dedicated to any position you can offer. I sincerely hope that you have the time to read through my resume and to consider me for an apprenticeship position.
