Experience: 1 to 2 years

Apprenticeship Preference: Carpentry

    A little bit about me...

I am writing to express a keen interest in securing a first year apprenticeship I am a practical and hands on person with above average numeracy and literacy skills, a keen work ethic and I am extremely keen to further advance my progress by securing an apprenticeship to develop my skills with a reputable employer. My prime objective is to attain trade level skills and I am prepared to put in the hard work that sees me attain the necessary skills and qualifications. I am keen to contribute to a viable business by coupling my training and development with active ‘on the job experience’ - I want to learn and be productive at the same time. I am enrolled in a Certificate III in Carpentry at TAFE NSW and in the last 12 months have worked within a factory/assembly line (Eatons Frames and Trusses) then in the commercial building environment (Collaborative Constructions). I learned during this period that I am definitely suited to physicality and the outdoors and would prefer to work in an environment that allows closer contact with my immediate supervisor and closer contact with the client. Being able to see the outcomes of my work, such as a satisfied employer and customer, is important to my development. I am currently working on a casual basis with Andrew Stewart in shed contruction providing labour. In this role I have used power tools, maintained job sites and worked as part of a highly productive team. I am reliable and hardworking which my current employer can attest to. I am able to work fulltime and have no problem with travelling away for work or working weekends when it is required. I have my own car and drivers licence.
