    A little bit about me...

My name is Taylah and I am a 21-year-old female seeking to obtain a mature age apprenticeship hopefully within your organisation. I have immersed myself in the workforce for a total of 8 years since the young age of 14; balancing both part-time as well as full-time work and study. I am a dedicated individual who is constantly driven to better not only themselves but also their career path. Often thriving in a fast paced, mentally and physically challenging environment. Throughout the previous four years I have worked on an alternating basis with Academy Plumbing as a Trade Assistant. Often assisting tradesman with minor and major works projects, pipe laying, roofing repair and guttering, trench digging and site clean ups. I have also recently started to operate an 8-ton excavator, assisting in predominantly digging of trenches. Over the past year I have also acquired a casual position with Academy Commercial and Industrial Building Maintenance as a Trade Assistant. Within this role I have gained experience in generalised painting, repair and replacing of roof panels and ceilings as well as building repairs and structures. Within my current role as a Youth Employment Consultant I work for Australia’s largest provider of Disability Employment Services. APM deliver a 65-million-dollar Smart, Skilled and Hired program funded by the NSW Department of Industry. Through this position I have been able to build and further improve my customer service skills, sales-based knowledge and marketing experience. Building rapport with employers and young people is something I can do quickly and effectively and believe this would be quite beneficial in the trade industry. Previously working as a Department Manager within multiple Newcastle stores, I have developed transferable skills suited to any industry and role. Within McDonalds I managed more than 500+ crew across many different stores building relationships, morale and pushing for a positive team environment. Within McDonalds I was able to push myself in a leadership role, set individual and team targets as well as maintaining a high level of execution and customer satisfaction.
